On Sunday I'm preaching from 1 Corinthians 11:2-16. It's a bit of a contentious passage for some. I've found Bruce Winter hugely helpful for understanding some of the context for the passage. He gives a lecture on it here (go down to access the files).     Great sermon today, Andrew. Murray's dad learned a lot, and has been talking about it all day.
    I was thinking of handing out beanies to the women next Sunday, and collecting any pearls or other jewellery to be sold to fund church projects.

    Aaahh haaa...I've just realised why Bandy was less reluctant than usual to have his hair cut recently - he may have taken 1Cor 9:14 to heart!

    Perhaps the installation of the "dress police" at the door could fund some new buildings! A text without a context is a pretext for a proof-text...
